Delaforce 2004 LBV, £11.50
Medium bodied, opens with a fair level of sweetness in an easy-going, accessible style. The finish is gritty with more savoury, grown up flavours. A very good all-rounder.
Quinta do Vale Dona Maria, 2001, £29
2001 was a hot, wet vintage resulting in wines that strike the right balance of depth & power for longevity and ripe fruit for ease of drinkning.This is a big port, with a long life ahead of it, but if you don't have the patience, it's tasting pretty fine at the moment. A deep violet port, with a moderate amount of sediment and a palate of plain chocolate smothered brambles.
